Gogaburn Suspensions Bridge Scotland

In 2003 myself and a colleague were responsible for detailing the access bridge to the new Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters in Edinburgh.

It was a very interesting and challenging job due to the complexity of the geometry and pre-camber that needed to be modelled into the bridge.

The arch was made up of three site welded sections, each of those sections being made up of several smaller length shop welded tubes. Each tube was over a meter in diameter and had to be specially fabricated and rolled in Finland before being shipped to the UK for assembly.
